Ghostly Eclipse from Southern Africa

Hi there

This image taken from Magaliesburg in the Cradle of Humankind, Gauteng,
South Africa

Photographer:
Mitchell Krog (

GPS:

S 26 00’33" E 27 28’18"

Camera Details:

Nikon D3

Nikkor 70-200mm F/2.8 with 1.4 Teleconverter

1/250 @ F/5.6

ISO 200

18-Stop Neutral Density Filter (2 stacked)

Description:
Taken from my farm in the North-West corner of Gauteng bordering the North
West Province. We awoke to cloudy skies and rain but luckily at the height
of the event we had some breaks in the clouds which strangely enough did
more justice to the images than a blank sky and gave a good reference point
for the sun.

Kind Regards

  1. Hi Mitchell, thanks for great ‘atmospheric’ pic. The cloud effect really adds to the eclipse.

    Best wishes
